WHAT TO EXPECT

The first thing we do is to decide on a location together for your shoot, then we decide on a time, normally an hour or two before sun set results in the best lighting but this will depend on location and the time of year but any time of the day will work. On the day of your session we will meet at a pre determined location and then set off, we will take a walk stopping every now and then to capture some stunning images in the best light possible, we have a number of props we can use to make your session extra special, if you have a particular place you would like to stop along the way just let me know. I will be keeping an eye on the weather in the days leading up to your session, if the weather isn’t looking the best I will drop you a line to see how you want to proceed, most of the time things work out for the best, if not then you have the option to re book your session for a later date we can also do this on the day.

For studio sessions we will arrive a little early to set up so we don’t take up any of your session time, once everyone is ready we will start taking some pictures, again we will work to your children and give them as much time to settle as they need. I will run through a number of poses and setups to compliment the candid shots.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

As with all my photography I like to keep things relaxed and natural so dress your little ones in what is normal for you, if you would like to make it extra special and dress smart this is also fine, I recommend staying away from bright whites and sports wear or anything with large visible logos or crazy mismatched patterns, as with every day life just dress for the location. I do recommend plain clothes and neutral colours as this blend tends to work best with my editing style.

WHAT WILL WE DO?

For a good part of your session I will just observe you whilst capturing the moment, this method is the best way to create the best natural images. This said I will give you some direction and set a few classic poses so you get the most out of your session, if public displays of affection isn’t your thing then don’t worry I wont have you doing anything that isn’t natural to you, we will work to your children’s speed if they need more time to get used to the camera then that’s what we will do. After your session is complete I will then begin the editing of your images, at this point I will send you a link where you can view all the images from your session and make your final selections. After you have made your selection the full edit will begin and any additional prints will be ordered, I will keep you updated throughout the process so you know where things are up to, Once complete your images will be sent out to you via your chosen method. I keep all of your images for 12 months so if you require additional images we can do this for you.
